i miss nora kennedy.

i've been wishing i had blond hair lately... and then i came across this photo. i think it's a sign. actually, it's two signs. one, i should book my flight this week to go and see this girl. two, i need to buy a much higher quality blond wig, as my current one is... on the way out.

three generations of birdwatching...

i shot this for a photo column at the herald... i wanted to find the youngest birdwatcher in whatcom county. fanter was awesome, and i even got to see a short-eared owl while i was out with them! (that's the joyous reaction shot below)

this guy totally rebuilt a 1932 ford roadster... he was pretty excited to take it out on the open road and give me the "disneyland" ride, which he assured me "wouldn't be scary, but we'll just get there real fast". he was wrong. it was indeed scary. but, we did get there fast.

pulmonary rehabilitation...

this is my kind of medicine... these women have breathing difficulty, and instead of putting them on all sorts of pills, they are learning new techniques of how to breathe and increasing their exercise levels. the woman in the middle couldn't walk around her house without her oxygen tank, and after 8 weeks of rehab, twice a week, she can walk around without the tank at all. that's pretty cool.

covering a benefit for the women sharing hope organization, the two younger ladies are laughing with a founding member of the organization after she suggested a few items she could put in her new purse. i don't usually like shooting these sort of assignments because they're... boring. but, this was a nice surprise...

i couldn't believe i saw this ruby-throated hummingbird on top of king mountain before spring has even arrived. awesomeness.

shot an elementary production of the musical, seussical, a few days ago. the kids all made their own costumes, and i really wanted to stay for the whole thing - they were awesome!
