guess what i'm finally working on!!!
...for those of you who don't know... i'm still working to complete my graduate project at mu, on exotic animal ownership in missouri. i'm hoping to make some real progress in the next few weeks, so new picture updates may be less frequent... cheers! -k

i picked some dill flowers that had gone to seed for ben randolph... they looked so pretty in the bowl i thought i'd photograph them. obviously, i had some time on my hands...

brunch by ben AND jena randolph... an ode to anjali pinto
jena's husband ben randolph is an amazing chef in the columbia, mo area. he made brunch for all of us and i've promised to trade him food pictures for his future website in exchange for eating his food! anjali pinto is (was?) a grad student at MU and a fabulous photographer of exquisite food... i've learned a thing or two from checking out her work.

i mean really, i think estella is showing us how smart she is in that last picture. she watched how hank says hello and figured she'd say hi in the same way. i wonder if it's the first time that hank truly understood what someone was trying to say?!? ;)
the sago palm, a cycad
i went outside to shoot something i'd seen down the street, but didn't even make it to my driveway before i stopped at my dad's sago palm plant. the sago palm is a kind of cycad - a species whose fossils date back to 280 million years ago! so cool.

martha and jimmy
jimmy's constant taunting of martha to try one of the scotch bonnet peppers finally wore her down... yowza.
