this cooper's (or sharp-shinned?) hawk accidentally flew into a huge window of a house in rocheport where i'm staying for the week. i went outside and waited with it until about an hour later, when it finally took flight again.
p.s. vignette disclaimer! the 16-35 lens on the 5d does some crazy vignetting!

16-35 on 5D? you got really close to that beauty!
That hour I'm sure was magic.
these are crazy beautiful!
Katie,
Your ability to photograph the world that is so close to us yet so far away is wonderful. How rarely we take the time to get this close to anything, especially a coopers hawk.
wylie! i'm so glad you've left a comment!! i was lucky with this hawk, and it did feel magical to be so near to something that is usually soaring overhead... thanks again for the comment - much appreciated.
